What is it?
Filer First is a business incubation/pitch competition that connects entrepreneurs with great ideas for a new business and opportunities related to capital, real estate, and business development expertise. Filer First is geared up to educate, empower and enable entrepreneurs like you to take your business to the next level!
Requirements for Entry
A great idea for a business in Filer Township DDA District and a business pitch created with the help of Small Business Development Center.
Judging Criteria
As our judges and competetion committee review applications, they will consider the following;
Viability of concept, market fit for Filer Township, concept fit with current location, inventory, over-all impact on Filer DDA, job creation & over-all qualifications of key personnel.
Eligibility
Filer First Business Competition is open to all who have a great idea, the desire to create a business pitch, and commitment to operating their business in Filer Township DDA.
Prizes
The chosen winner will receive a $10,500 grant from Filer Township DDA.
SBDC will provide contestants with assistance in creating a business plan.
Personalized Mentorship for a year after the competition.
Assistance finding a space to lease in Filer Township, including assistance in working with landlords and negotiating leases.
One year memberhsip to the Manistee County Chamber of Commerce.
Filer Credit Union is offering pre-approval analysis for business loan needs.
